Now, Baroda Dairy's acting chairman resigns

VADODARA: Just a month after Dinesh Patel alias Dinu Mama resigned from the post of chairman of the Baroda District Co-operative Milk Producers Union Limited popularly known as Baroda Dairy, now dairy's vice-chairman G B Solanki has also tendered his resignation.
After Dinu Mama resigned from the post of chairman last month, Solanki was appointed acting chairman of the milk union. Politics in the district dairy union is boiling ever since Savli's BJP MLA Ketan Inamdar made a series of allegations against the dairy's board members alleging corruption and nepotism in the recruitment process.
After Inamdar threatened to stage a 'dharna' outside the dairy, the board members clarified their stand. But the BJP MLA had staged a token protest at the dairy premises on Monday.
Solanki, however, said that he voluntarily decided to resign from the post of acting chairman and vice-chairman. "There is absolutely no pressure on me, neither from the BJP nor any MLA," he told media persons while declaring his decision to quit the posts. He will however continue as director of the milk union.
"I am of the firm belief that Baroda Dairy should grow. If my resignation can bring some peace in the current situation, I should resign,'' he said.
Regarding the pending policy decisions, he said that the new chairman and vice-chairman should take a call on the future decisions .
