UP Budget gives impetus to infra development, aviation sector

Lucknow, Feb 22 (KNN) The 2023-24 annual budget of Uttar Pradesh tabled on Wednesday focuses on infrastructural developmental, including aviation, road and railways.
Uttar Pradesh’s Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna presented the Rs 6.90 lakh crore “development-oriented” budget in the state Legislative Assembly.
It was earlier passed in a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
The Finance Minister told the media that it is the biggest budget in the history of the state.
He emphasised on the state’s goal to achieve USD 1 trillion economy with the focus on the infrastructure sector.
“In the coming year 5 international and 16 domestic airports will become functional in the state,“ announced the state FM.
For Gorakhpur Industrial Corridor, which will come up near the Gorakhpur Link Expressway, the state government proposes to set aside Rs 200 crore.
In the financial year 2023-2024, a provision of Rs 1306 crore is proposed for construction work on Delhi-Ghaziabad Meerut RRTS Corridor is in progress.
A provision of Rs 100 crore is proposed for the implementation of the Metro Rail project in Varanasi, Gorakhpur and other cities.
A budget arrangement of Rs 585 crore is proposed for the Kanpur Metro Rail Project in the financial year 2023-2024 and Rs 465 crore is proposed for the Agra Metro Rail Project. (KNN Bureau)
