Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed lower in the Tuesday's session.

Sikko Industries(up 1.22%) and ZUARIAGRO(up 1.16%) stood among the top gainers.

Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chem(down 4.69%), Bohra Industries(down 3.62%), Fertilizers & Chemicals Tranvancore(down 2.84%), Aries Agro(down 2.00%), Madras Fertlizers(down 1.95%), Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals(down 1.72%), Madhya Bharat Agro Products(down 1.63%), Rama Phosphates(down 1.63%), Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals(down 1.56%) and Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers(down 1.54%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 17.9 points down at 17826.7, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 18.82 points at 60672.72.

NTPC(up 3.19%), Britannia Industries(up 1.11%), Reliance Industries(up 0.82%), Tata Steel(up 0.71%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 0.65%), Divis Laboratories(up 0.62%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 0.61%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 0.6%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 0.42%) and HDFC(up 0.4%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Adani Enterprises(down 3.11%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(down 2.35%), Coal India(down 1.95%), Bajaj Auto(down 1.71%), Tata Motors(down 1.47%), UPL Ltd(down 1.42%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 1.36%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 1.3%), UltraTech Cement(down 1.16%) and Wipro(down 1.06%) closed in the red.
