Authorities seize alcohol, cash in search of Erie spot where unlicensed sales suspected
Pennsylvania State Police liquor enforcement officers seized alcohol and cash during a search over the weekend of an Erie gathering spot suspected of selling alcohol without a liquor license.
Members of the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement, with assistance from several other agencies, served a search warrant on The Attic in the 1200 block of West 26th Street on Saturday at 2:15 a.m. The search was part of an investigation into the suspected sales of alcohol without a liquor license, according to information released by state police Tuesday.
Investigators said they seized 83 liters of liquor and 10 gallons of malt or brewed beverages during the search, along with $1,419 in cash.
The investigation is ongoing, according to state police, with no one charged in the liquor investigation as of Tuesday.
Erie police took three people into custody from the 1200 block of West 26th Street at the time of the search on Saturday morning, with each facing a disorderly conduct charge, according to city police arrest records. One of the individuals is also charged with possession of a controlled substance, according to arrest records.

The Erie Bureau of Police Nuisance Bar Task Force and the department's Drug & Vice Unit and SWAT team assisted in Saturday morning's search, Deputy Chief Rick Lorah said Tuesday. Also involved, according to state police, were inspectors from the Erie Bureau of Fire and city code enforcement officers, state parole and the U.S. Marshals Service.
State police on Tuesday said the investigation began after receiving a complaint about an alleged assault at the location. Investigators then developed information about the possible sales of alcohol without a license, the agency reported.
Lorah said Tuesday that Erie police had received complaints from neighbors about the establishment.
