Didn't approve MVA nominations due to 'threat' letter: Former Maharashtra governor B S Koshyari
Bhagat Singh Koshyari
MUMBAI: Former Maharashtra governor B S Koshyari on Monday defended his decision to sit on the 12 MLC nominations under the Governor's quota sent by the MVA government because of the ultimatum and "threat" in then CM Uddhav Thackeray's letter, reports Priyanka Kakodkar.
"It said the names should be approved within 15 days. This went against the dignity of the governor's post. Is the governor your servant or rubber stamp?" he asked. "I was ready to sign the next day but for this threat. Then they kept changing the names on the list," he told a TV channel. "Similarly, when I was asked to permit the election for the post of speaker of the state assembly, I was asked to give a decision by 6 pm. What is this?" he asked.
