Fetus exhumed to probe charge against Raj police
Nuh/Jaipur: Nuh police on Sunday night exhumed a fetus in Maroda village of the district, days after the wife of one of the accused in the Bhiwani deaths case alleged she had a miscarriage after Rajasthan cops barged into their house and threw her to the ground.
The accusations were made by Shri Kant’s wife Kamlesh and his mother Dulari Devi.
Shri Kant is believed to be part of the cow vigilante group, led by Monu Manesar, which is active in the Sohna-Nuh-Alwar belt. The two of them are among the five booked for the abduction of Junaid and Nasir, residents of Bharatpur in Rajasthan who whose charred bodies were found inside a burnt Bolero in Bhiwani on February 16.
According to Shri Kant’s mother, around 30 men in Rajasthan police uniform had barged into their house in Nuh’s Nagina and thrashed the family members around 3am on February 17. They also allegedly shoved Kamlesh, who was nine months pregnant, which led to the fall that caused the miscarriage.
A team of medical experts and a team of cops led by Firozpur Jhirka DSP Satish Kumar exhumed the foetus for a postmortem to ascertain the cause of death. “A board of doctors at Al Afia General Hospital in Mandikhera is conducting the postmortem. After the report, police will action accordingly,” Nuh ASP Usha Kundu said on Monday.
The chairperson for the Haryana State Commission for Women, Renu Bhatia, meanwhile, met Kamlesh at a hospital in Nalhar (Nuh) on Monday and said she will take up the issue with state ministers. “This is tragic… police should have taken women cops if they were entering someone’s house… We will report the matter to state home minister Anil Vij and ask him to bring up the issue with Union home minister Amit Shah. I have also directed Nuh police to investigate the matter properly,” Bhatia said.
BJP MP from Bharatpur Ranjeeta Koli also wrote to the National Commission for Women (NCW), condemning the Bhiwani deaths and demanding strict action against the cops who allegedly thrashed Kamlesh. “Allegations against Bharatpur police are of very serious nature… Whatever Bharatpur police has done in this case comes under heinous crime…” Koli wrote in the letter to NCW chairperson Rekha Sharma.
Rajasthan Police chief Umesh Mishra denied the charges, saying police personnel from the state had so far taken action in association with Haryana Police within the legal framework.
