AgenciesNEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a positive note on Monday.
Shares of Samvardhana Motherson International(up 2.82 per cent), TVS Motor Company(up 2.43 per cent), TIINDIA(up 2.05 per cent), Sona BLW Precision Forgings(up 2.02 per cent) and Balkrishna Industries(up 1.42 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Maruti Suzuki(down 1.3 per cent), Hero MotoCorp(down 0.32 per cent), Bharat Forge(down 0.24 per cent) and Ashok Leyland(down 0.24 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.28 per cent up at 13177.4.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 99.6 points at 17844.6, while the BSE Sensex stood down 311.03 points at 60691.54.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 ended in the green, while 31 closed in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, Zomato Ltd. and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Advitiya Trade India, Majesco L(PP), Pennar Ind, Sonata Software and Cera Sanitary hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while OrissaBengalCarrier, Arshiya, Sanwaria Consumer, Shree Ram Proteins and STL Global hit their fresh 52-week lows.
