BATHINDA: Preacher and Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal Singh, who has been booked on charges of abduction, on Sunday visited Budh Singh Wala village in Moga district to attend a programme in memory of Deep Sidhu – the founder of Waris Punjab De.
Amritpal, who also inaugurated a memorial gate in the village, said he failed to understand where the police were looking for him. “Yesterday, I was at my native village and today I am at Budh Singh Wala in full public glare,” he said, adding that he was ready to go anywhere, if the police wanted to arrest him.
Budh Singh Wala is the native village of Gurjant Singh Budh Singh Wala – the third head of the Khalistan Liberation Force, who was killed in police action at Ludhiana on July 29, 1992.Amritpal reiterated that death of Deep Singh should not be seen as a simple accident. There was a deep-rooted conspiracy behind it, he claimed. tnn
