WORCESTER — After consulting with the Worcester District Attorney’s office, the police department has closed its investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct at Abby Kelley Foster Charter Public School.

The investigation ended with no criminal charges filed, Lt. Sean Murtha confirmed Monday.

Abby Kelley is continuing its internal investigation, Executive Director Heidi Paluk said.

"To preserve the integrity of the investigative process and the privacy and confidentiality of those impacted, we have nothing further to share at this time," Paluk said in an email Monday.

Last week, Paluk, said multiple members of the cheerleading coaching staff had been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation into allegations of misconduct.

Paluk also said last week that the school hired outside counsel to conduct the investigation and that further action may be considered once it is complete.

The school also canceled the rest of the cheer season “until further notice.”

The Office of District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr. declined comment on the investigation.

"It is our practice to disclose information if and when criminal charges are filed," a spokewoman said Monday.
