Stock market update: Mining stocks down as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading lower on Monday at 11:06AM

KIOCL(up 2.85%), Aro Granite Industries(up 2.17%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 1.22%), 20 Microns(up 0.97%), MOIL(up 0.19%) and Coal India(up 0.14%) were among the top gainers.

Lexus Granito(down 3.66%), Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(down 1.72%), NMDC Ltd(down 1.53%), Pokarna(down 1.34%), Oriental Trimex(down 0.71%), Ashapura Minechem(down 0.61%) and Madhav Marbles and Granites(down 0.37%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 17.6 points up at 17961.8, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 123.93 points at 61126.5 at around 11:06AM.

Bharti Airtel(up 1.93%), Tech Mahindra(up 1.93%), HCL Technologies(up 1.48%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.22%), Hindalco Industries(up 1.02%), Infosys(up 0.87%), NTPC(up 0.83%), Eicher Motors(up 0.79%), SBI Life(up 0.72%) and UltraTech Cement(up 0.7%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Adani Enterprises(down 6.25%), Cipla(down 6.19%), Britannia Industries(down 1.01%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 0.98%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 0.93%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.72%), Nestle India(down 0.64%), Titan Company Ltd(down 0.44%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.4%) and State Bank of India(down 0.35%) were trading in the red.
