Stock market update: Sugar stocks down as market rises

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading lower on Monday at 11:01AM

Dharani Sugars & Chemicals(up 2.94%), DCM Shriram Industries(up 1.14%), Simbhaoli Sugars(up 1.13%), Sakthi Sugars(up 0.23%) and Balrampur Chini Mills(up 0.12%) were among the top gainers.

Shree Renuka Sugars(down 2.11%), Ponni Sugars(Erode)(down 2.04%), Ugar Sugar Works(down 2.00%), BAJAJHIND(down 1.86%), AVADHSUGAR(down 1.59%), Uttam Sugar Mills(down 1.54%), KCP Sugar & Industries(down 1.17%), Rana Sugars(down 1.11%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals(down 1.08%) and Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(down 1.05%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 20.3 points up at 17964.5, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 142.13 points at 61144.7 at around 11:01AM.

Tech Mahindra(up 1.93%), Bharti Airtel(up 1.9%), HCL Technologies(up 1.53%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.15%), Hindalco Industries(up 1.08%), Infosys(up 0.89%), NTPC(up 0.83%), Eicher Motors(up 0.75%), UltraTech Cement(up 0.71%) and SBI Life(up 0.63%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Adani Enterprises(down 6.47%), Cipla(down 6.01%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 1.04%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 0.99%), Britannia Industries(down 0.96%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.65%), Nestle India(down 0.64%), Titan Company Ltd(down 0.46%), UPL Ltd(down 0.42%) and Asian Paints(down 0.35%) were trading in the red.
