YMCA Black Achievers honored at Galt House Hotel

The 44th annual YMCA Black Achievers Awards was held at the Galt House Hotel Sunday night.The night celebrates the accomplishments of graduating seniors and professional achievers.This year's youth achiever of the year is a dual-enrolled senior at Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science in Bowling Green."We're a family and we are responsible for our future. We are responsible for the future of our young people and so how will they know unless they have mentors and other adults out there that have lived life before them to help guide them along the way," said DeVonne Sorel, YMCA Greater Louisville.Our very own Shaquille Lord was chosen to represent WLKY at Saturday night's ceremony.
