HCL Technologies Ltd CEO C Vijayakumar is the highest-paid senior executive of an IT business in India, receiving USD 16.52 million (Rs 131.08 crore) last year, including LTI (long-term incentive).


C Vijayakumar was paid USD 2 million as a base salary, USD 2 million in variable pay, and USD 0.02 million in perquisites and other benefits for the fiscal year that ended in March, according to HCL’s annual report.


It should be mentioned that Vijayakumar was appointed as managing director on July 20, 2022, after the decision of HCL founder Shiv Nadar to step down from this high position.


In 1994, Vijayakumar joined HCL, which has branches all over the world. Vijayakumar had numerous positions at HCL prior to becoming CEO. He is also a member of the US-India Business Council’s Board of Directors.


C Vijayakumar was born in Tamil Nadu and attended ‘The Lawrence School’ in Lovedale, Ooty. Vijayakumar graduated from P.S.G. College of Technology in Tamil Nadu with a degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering. He presently lives in New Jersey, United States. Business Today selected Vijayakumar as the Best CEO of the Year, 2020 in the IT/ITES Sector.
