Now things are getting pretty serious.

Welcome to Day 3 of the Iowa high school wrestling tournament. Yesterday we set semifinal matchups across all three classes. Today, we'll narrow that down to two wrestlers at each weight vying for the title of 2023 state champion.

Need a refresher on what happened yesterday? Click here.

But in summary, Iowa City's Ben Kueter is still an animal. The top-seeded wrestler at 235 for Class 3A has pinned both his opponents to reach the semifinals. Not only did he win both his matches by fall, but he's only been on the mat for a grand total of 26 seconds this tournament. He pinned Ankeny's Will Hinrichs in 12 seconds to clinch his spot in the semis.

He's looking like he has a very good chance to win the state title Saturday, which would be his fourth. If he gets it done, he'd be just the 32nd Iowan in history to call themselves a four-time state champion.

More:Who will win the 2023 Iowa boys state wrestling championships? Here's our team race breakdowns.

The team races are shaping up well too. Don Bosco is in line for a historic five-peat in 1A if they can handle business today. Osage is running away with the 2A crown. In 3A, it's tight, but Waverly-Shell Rock is leading the pack after two days of wrestling.

We have a lot of fun in store today across our three sessions. First one starts at 9 a.m. and we'll be right along with you, updating this live blog with the newest results til the third session ends around 9:30 p.m.
