Peter Handscomb continues to bat solidly. With a boundary, he brings up Australia’s 250. Score 252/9 in 76 Overs.
WICKET! Mohammed Shami cleans up Nathan Lyon on 10. This one was bowled full and straight by the pacer as Lyon went for a drive – the ball gets past his defenses to crash-land on the stumps. AUS 246/9 in 74.2 Overs.

Opener David Warner and Usman Khawaja stitched a 50-run stand before being separated. Warner edged one from Mohammed Shami to be caught behind on 15.

Warner and Khawaja had made a watchful start in the opening hour of the morning session in Delhi. Plenty of play and misses. Some counterattack from Khawaja as well when he launched one from Ashwin for a six over mid-off.
Australia captain Pat Cummins called it correctly at the coin toss and decided his team will bat first as they hope to draw level in the four-match Test series against India. Interestingly, Australia are playing just one pacer for this match – Cummins himself, the rest of the three frontline bowlers are all spinners which include the seasoned Nathan Lyon, the one-Test old Todd Murphy and a debutant Matthew Kuhnemann. On the other hand, India have made one change as well with Shreyas Iyer back in the eleven and Suryakumar Yadav, who made his Test debut in Nagpur, being benched.
