Law enforcement is investigating an apparent murder-suicide in Waukee that left two people dead.

The Waukee Police Department responded to a report of a potential suicide in the 200 block of Southeast Boulder Court at about 7:27 a.m. Thursday, according to a news release. When police arrived, they found two people dead in an apparent murder-suicide.

The state medical examiner will determine a cause of death.

Waukee police and the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation are investigating.

In its news release, the Waukee Police Department expressed condolences for the victims and included resources for people experiencing domestic violence, including:
