Kevin Durant's time with the Brooklyn Nets was a roller coaster of emotions. The Nets attempted to win the title with Durant leading the way and Kyrie Irving and James Harden as his supporting stars. The role players the organization had around them were also decent and were capable players.
The 6-foot-10 forward became emotional as he talked about his time in Brooklyn.
"It was a lot of ups and downs.. We didn’t accomplish what we wanted to.. I get emotional talking about it because it was a special 4 years of my career coming off an Achilles. They helped me through a lot.. they got a bright future," Durant said.
However, due to injuries, off-court issues and a lack of direction, their attempt turned into a failure. Harden was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers for Ben Simmons and Irving was shipped to the Dallas Mavericks. The disgruntled star ended up only playing 143 games for the Nets in a span of four seasons.
Durant later saw himself getting shipped to the Suns at the deadline. His trade was a huge surprise to many as it wasn't announced that he was demanding a trade heading into the deadline. Still, the Nets honored KD's wishes as Phoenix was his preferred destination when he requested a trade during the offseason.
