    Australia have maintained a 100% winning record in the ongoing ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2023. On Thursday, Aussie Women tamed Sri Lanka Women to remain top of Group A with 6 points from 3 games. SL Women were restricted to 112/8 in 20 overs. Megan Schutt claimed four scalps (4/24). In response, the Aussie openers set the perfect run-chase (113/0).

    How did the match pan out?

    SL Women were off to a decent start before Chamari Athapaththu was dismissed (30/1). Harshitha Samarawickrama and Vishmi Gunaratne kept the scoreboard ticking with scores of 34 and 24 respectively. Australia bowled intelligently and claimed regular scalps, besides stemming the run flow. Australian openers added a valiant stand in the run-chase, setting up a comfortable win.

    Megan Schutt scripts these records

    Schutt claimed 4/24 from her four overs and has raced to 121 wickets at an average of 15.83. She is now the joint-3rd-highest wicket-taker alongside fellow Aussie star Ellyse Perry, who claimed 1/14. In the Women's T20 World Cup, Schutt now has 37 scalps. She is now the joint-3rd-highest wicket-taker in the tournament's history. Meanwhile, Perry has 39 scalps in the competition.

    Aussie openers stamp their authority

    Aussie openers Alyssa Healy and Beth Mooney struck a valuable stand to steal Sri Lanka Women's thunder. Healy managed a 43-ball 54*. Her knock was laced with six fours and a six. She slammed her 14th fifty, besides racing to 2,445 runs. Meanwhile, Mooney struck her 16th fifty. She managed 56* from 53 balls (4s: 7). Mooney now has 2,202 runs at 39.32.

    Women's T20 World Cup: Healy and Mooney up their numbers 

    Healy now has 898 runs in ICC Women's T20 World Cup at 28.96. She slammed her 7th fifty in the competition. Playing her 20th match in the tourney, Mooney registered her 4th fifty. She has raced to 460 runs at 38.33.
