NBA free agent Bryn Forbes was arrested Wednesday and charged with assault.
A woman told police that Forbes, 29, struck her after they got into an argument at their home in San Antonio, Tex.
Forbes and the victim, identified only as someone Forbes was dating, went out Tuesday night in San Antonio but began arguing at some point, according to a police report.
The woman said Forbes hit her several times, to the point that she needed medical attention.
Forbes was arrested around 5 a.m. Wednesday and booked into Bexar County jail on a misdemeanor charge of assault with bodily injury. He was released by Wednesday evening on $2,500 bail, according to online jail records. His arraignment was scheduled for March 20.
Forbes was a college star at Michigan State but went undrafted in the 2016 NBA Draft. He signed with the San Antonio Spurs as a free agent and eventually started 81 of 82 games in his third year in the league.
Forbes has since bounced around the NBA, playing with the Milwaukee Bucks, Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves. The Timberwolves released Forbes last week in connection with a trade deadline move for Mike Conley.
