21-year-old accuses fiance of rape in Ahmedabad

AHMEDABAD: A 21-year-old woman filed a rape complaint against her fiance at Wadaj police station. The couple got engaged on Valentine's Day last year. She has accused him of raping her repeatedly after their engagement and then refusing to marry her.
The accused, Krunal Raval, is absconding, said police inspector C G Joshi. According to the FIR filed under Section 376 (2) (N) (committing rape repeatedly on the woman), the victim met the Raval four years ago. He used to pick her up from her workplace and drop her at home. The duo fell in love and decided to get married.
Though there was initial opposition from the girl's family, she was adamant about marrying him. Later, the families agreed to the match and the couple got engaged on Valentine's Day last year. However, soon after the engagement, the accused began pressuring her for sex, saying their relationship was approved by society and they were going to get married.
The woman's complaint states that he raped her on many occasions after promising her marriage. However, later, he kept on delaying the wedding and when she began pressuring him, he refused to get married to her. So, she filed a rape complaint at Wadaj police station.
