Fayetteville Flyer reported today that Austin-based theater chain Alamo Drafthouse Cinema added a new Fayetteville location to its company website. Fayetteville Flyer listed the address as 3552 Hwy 112 on the former 112 Drive-In property.
A search of the “Choose Your Local Alamo” section of Alamo’s Drafthouse’s website did turn up a “Northwest Arkansas” location amongst its 26 listed, but clicking on it took us to a 404 message saying the page we were looking for was lost or had been destroyed by some kind of comic book hero.

The Flyer reached out to a representative from the company’s PR firm on Wednesday, who wouldn’t confirm the news, but did say “we’ll be making an announcement very soon” and “stay tuned for more.”
Plans for the development, called The Aronson, were recently submitted to the city’s development services department that show a more than 800-seat indoor movie theater, complete with a covered beer garden, small outdoor drive-in theater, and other amenities on the site where the former drive-in was located.
The plans – including the movie theaters – are consistent with what developers told City Council members when they sought to rezone the property last year.
Alamo Drafthouse opened in August in 1997. It’s known for combining a carefully curated selection of independent, foreign and major studio films, local craft beers, a chef driven menu and weekly themed nights to the movie theater experience.
