TYLER Goodrham can’t wait to get behind Oxford United’s youngsters as they prepare to take on Leeds United this evening.

The reward for the winner of the FA Youth Cup fifth round tie at the Kassam Stadium will be a trip to Manchester City in the quarter finals.

The original fifth round clash scheduled for last week was called off due to a frozen pitch, with the Under-18s now looking to build on from their 4-1 derby win against Swindon Town at the weekend.

Goodrham, a United academy graduate, said: “I was never able to play at the Kassam in the Youth Cup or got the chance to go to round five unfortunately but I’m so proud of them boys.

“What people don’t see is how hard they work and the fact they’re in every day earlier, cleaning boots and doing all that stuff.

“They fully deserve it and I’ll be there cheering them on.”

Last month, Gatlin O’Donkor scored twice as the Under-18s knocked out Cardiff City in a 3-1 win at the Kassam.

It was an historic night as the the U’s reached the fifth round for the first time since club records began.

City meanwhile won 5-0 at home to Fleetwood Town last week, to seal their place in the quarter finals.
