Sant Sevalal's teachings still relevant: Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai

DAVANAGERE: The government will sanction Rs 10 crore towards the development of the Sri Sant Sevalal Mahamath Pratisthana, announced chief minister Basavaraj Bommai. He was speaking after inaugurating the 284th birth anniversary of Sant Sevalal in Nyamati village on Tuesday.
Bommai said that the teachings of Sevalal are still relevant, and that he has shown a way to live a meaningful life.
"Banjara community is spread from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. Out of 200 SC students selected to study at Karnatak College, Dharwad, 98 are from the Banjara community. Among the 14 judges recruited, 6 are from the Banjara community. We are planning a Lidkar model programme for the Banjara community, and will establish residential schools for Banjara children, wherever their population is found more," he stated.
"A heritage village will be set up at Bahaddur Bande in Koppal, and a skill training programme will be held in Bidar by Tanda Development Corporation. We upgraded tandas as revenue villages, and issued possession letters to 52,000 people by PM Narendra Modi. We will issue possession letters to 52,000 people in Gollarahatti, Kurubarahatti and Lambani tandas in March," he said.
