Mysuru: Continuing raids on listed rowdies, Mysuru city police on Tuesday raided the houses of over six dozen rowdies and searched for arms and weapons and later warned them of stern action if they indulge in unlawful activities. This is the second such raid in the last two months. A dozen of them are likely to be banished from the city for a specified period later in the week.
Deputy commissioner of police (law and order) M Muthuraju said the raid was conducted on the houses of 76 listed rowdies by the city police. Assistant commissioners of police of all four subdivisions and inspectors from all police stations were roped in for the raid that started at 5am.
The DCP said no dangerous weapons were found in their houses. Later they were summoned to Hebbal police station and were issued warning to them not to indulge in any unlawful activities as assembly elections are nearing. Rowdies were also warned to stay away from real estate quarrels, the officer said.
According to the officer, the city police have listed 956 rowdies in the city and their activities are being regularly monitored.
