RANCHI: The Papal ambassador to India and Nepal, Leopoldo Girelli, on Tuesday inaugurated a four-day national Conference of Diocesan Priests of India (CDPI) at the Social Development Centre in Ranchi, calling upon priests to devote themselves to a better understanding of human values and pastoral life.
Around 150 priests from across the country are attending the conference commencing Wednesday in Ranchi. The conference would conclude on February 17. Arriving in Ranchi in the afternoon, the Papal ambassador, referred to as the Nuncio, was given a warm welcome at St. Albert's College, one of the largest theological colleges in the country under the Catholic Church, by the Ranchi bishop, Theodore Mascarenhas, the rector of St. Albert's College, Ajay Kumar Khalkho and others.
