Guwahati: BJP national president JP Nadda on Tuesday unveiled the party’s manifesto for the coming assembly election in
Nagaland with promise of providing ‘free quality education’ to all girls of the state ‘from KG to PG.”
Unveiling the ‘vision document’ at party office in Kohima, Nadda said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi calls the NE states as the ‘Ashta Lakshmi’, and our vision document kept these eight factors in mind for Nagaland that need to be achieved — peace, power, tourism, 5G connectivity, culture, natural farming,
sports and potential.”
Nadda said, “The Sankalp Patra 2023 of BJP for Nagaland encompasses a roadmap for the state’s development.”
Besides the free-of-cost quality education to all female students, the party has also promised free scooty to college going meritorious female students as well as two free LPG cylinders per year for Ujjwala beneficiaries.
The party assured that it will double the insurance cap for the families under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme from the present Rs 5 lakh per annum limit to Rs 10 lakh. The party has also promised establishment of a dedicated department for ‘Mother and Child Care’ in all the district hospitals.
On agricultural infrastructure, the manifesto states that benefits under the PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi Yojana will be strengthened and ensure 100% coverage for the direct benefit transfer of all government schemes in Nagaland. The party has also promised introduction of Nagaland Tourism Skill Mission to train 50,000 youth in the arena of tourism. He also assured that the party will ensure infrastructure development and connectivity to bring holistic development to the region.
