Doc visits kin, returns to find house burgled

Ludhiana: Raikot police, on Monday, lodged an FIR against unidentified persons for executing a burglary at a doctor’s house in Mori Jattan Raikot. The accused decamped with Rs 24.92 lakh in cash and gold jewelry. While fleeing, the accused also took the CCTV recorder.
Dr Chamkaur Singh and his family members had gone to his relative’s house in Barnala on Sunday. The family returned late at night to find the locks of the main gate, lobby and bedroom broken. The house had also been ransacked. The doctor lodged a complaint with Raikot Police, following which a case was registered against the unidentified accused.
The victim, who runs a clinic at his house, said on Sunday, he opened the clinic till afternoon, after which he went to visit a relative with his family.When they reached home at around 11:45pm, they found the main gate of the house open. Inside, they found that the door of the lobby and bedroom had been broken open and the house was ransacked.
“The burglars broke open all cupboards of the house and stole Rs 24.92 lakh cash and about 80gm gold. While fleeing, they took the CCTV recorder” the doctor said.A police official said that the accused can be seen in footage of another CCTV camera installed near the house.tnn
