Deputies in Wilsonville shoot and critically injure 2 people Tuesday

Deputies in Wilsonville shot and critically injured two people Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, the deputies pulled over a stolen car at about 12:30 p.m. near Wilsonville Road and Town Center Loop.

They say one of the two people in the car was armed, and an exchange of gunfire took place.

Both occupants of the vehicle were shot. They were taken to a nearby hospital, where both were listed in critical condition.

No deputies were injured, but a patrol vehicle was struck by gunfire.

A major crimes team is investigating, along with the Clackamas County District Attorney’s Office. The names of the people involved have not been released.
