Fan favorites include the honey walnut shrimp, chicken chile verde burrito and, of course, the Mandarin orange chicken, to name a few. Now, a new item has hit the shelves and is sure to bring about some hot, frozen takes.
Trader Joe’s newest frozen food item is Perfectly Pickled Pups — mini hot dogs coated in a pickle-flavored batter and crunchy breading. The supermarket has an array of popular products for pickle lovers, though it is also known for discontinuing some of its popular items. The mouth-poppable frozen corn dogs are now available nationwide, according to Trader Joe’s spokesperson.

The fried pickle corn dog was a regular-sized hot dog shoved into a hollowed-out pickle and fried in corn dog batter with panko bread crumbs. It seems that, perhaps, Trader Joe’s is banking on that same type of flavor profile to be a hit for its newest concoction, though Trader Joe’s declined to comment on the specifics of what inspired this item.
Regardless, if you are a fan of fried pickles (which, if you haven’t tried them, you should and can thank me later) or a fan of corn dogs, Trader Joe’s Perfectly Pickled Pups is likely to satisfy both of those cravings. There are currently no reviews of the new snack on TraderJoesReviews.com, so you could be the first. SFGATE has yet to taste test them, but they are already getting points for the super cute name.
