Nitish Kumar reviewed and launched a number of projects in Rohtas and Aurangabad districts during his Samadhan Yatra on Monday.
Complaints of serious irregularities in the widening of old GT Road at the estimated cost of about Rs100 crore, construction of drains at the cost of Rs80 crore and cleaning of the Sasaram town marked the review meeting of the chief minster at the Rohtas collectorate. The CM ordered an inquiry into these matters. RJD MLA from Dinara Vijay Kumar Mandal complained that even after spending Rs180 crore on the widening of old GT Road and construction of drains at Sasaram, the work was yet to be completed. The CM asked DM Rohtas to look into the matter.
Similarly, RJD MLA of Sasaram Rajesh Gupta complained that the Nagar Nigam Sasaram paid Rs86 lakh every month to an NGO for keeping the city clean, but heaps of garbage and overflowing drains create a hellish condition for the residents.
Almost all MLAs of the district requested the CM to tag the arwa (non-boiled) rice mills to PACS as the district, popularly known as rice bowl of of the state, has 98% rice mills producing non-boiled rice.
The state government has tagged only boiled rice millers to PACSs. It is learnt that the district procures highest quantity of paddy in the state every year and it has more than 500 rice mills, but due to the government policy this year, wheels of most of the mills did not run turn.
Earlier, Nitish inaugurated the buildings of OBC girls residential school at Mokar and interacted with the inmates. He also appreciated a girl student, Saloni, for singing a song related to de-addiction campaign of the state government.
In Aurangabad, Nitish inaigurated panchayat sarkar bhavan at Kanchanpur under Barun block and 7 other newly constructed panchayat buildings (3 in Nabinagar, 2 in Barun, 2 in Rafiganj and 1 in Kutumba).
A total of five beneficiaries were provided benefits under the Alankari Fisheries Unit Assistance Scheme by the district fisheries office on the occasion. At the stall set up by the district revenue branch, land settlement forms were distributed to 5 homeless beneficiaries of Barun block. Seven beneficiaries were given benefits of Student Credit Card Scheme, CM Self-Help Allowance Scheme and Skilled Youth Program and 2 under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Utthan Yojana. E-cycles and tricycles were distributed to 5 beneficiaries.
