Ex-BJP MLA meets HDK

Hubballi: Former BJP MLA Veerabhadrappa Halaharavi met Kumaraswamy at a private hotel in Hubballi on Monday for a closed-door discussion for about half an hour.
Later, he told reporters that it was not a political meeting, just a courtesy visit. “Kumaraswamy had invited me for breakfast,” he said.
Halaharavi was the MLA of the Hubballi-Dharwad East segment between 2008-13 but was defeated by the Congress’ Prasad Abbayya in 2013.
He was denied a BJP ticket in 2018. There is talk that the BJP has denied him a ticket this time too. So, there is speculation that he may join the JD(S).
