Coimbatore city police increase vigil at 446 ATM centres
COIMBATORE: Following burglaries at four ATM centres in Tiruvannamalai district on Sunday, the Coimbatore city police have intensified vigil at all the ATM centres. Police personnel on night patrol have been advised to closely monitor the ATM centres to prevent burglaries.
“We have 446 ATM centres within the city police limits and some of them do not have private security guards during night hours. We have already informed the nationalised and private banks to depute private security guards at the ATM centres. Cops are advised to closely monitor the ATM centres round the clock particularly in night hours to prevent burglaries,” said commissioner of police V Balakrishnan.
“We are planning to conduct a meeting with the officials of the nationalised and private banks in Coimbatore city to take necessary measures to prevent burglaries at the ATM centres,’ said Balakrishnan.
