‘Committed for direct road to martyr’s house’
Ludhiana: Deputy commissioner (DC) Surabhi Malik on Monday said that efforts were being expedited by the government to ensure a direct road to the ancestral house of martyr Sukhdev Thapar in Naughara Mohalla area here.
Presiding over a meeting with the members of Shaheed Sukhdev Thapar Memorial Trust, the DC said the Punjab government was committed for the completion of the project of constructing a direct approach road to the revolutionary leader’s house from Chaura Bazar. She said that notifications regarding land acquisition and others would be issued soon. She also asked the officers to remove all legal complications and other aspects to enable speedy completion.
Malik said that Shaheeds Sukhdev, Bhagat Singh and Rajguru had laid down their lives for the nation and that the countrymen would always remain indebted to them. She said these great sons of the soil had sacrificed their lives for emancipating the country from the shackles of foreign imperialism.
ADCs Amit Kumar Panchal, Rahul Chaba and Amarjit Bains, and trust president Ashok Thapar and member Tribhuvan Thapar were also present at the meet.
