Quince owners Michael and Lindsay Tusk plan to debut an espresso and gelato cafe at 596 Pacific Ave., as first reported by the San Francisco Business Times. A representative at Quince confirmed the forthcoming cafe with SFGATE but could not provide additional details at this time.
Within walking distance of Quince and Cotogna, which is also owned by the Tusks, the new cafe will take up the former space of Chai Bar, which opened in 2020. Previously, the building was home to The Station SF.
The news comes a month after the Tusks announced that they would temporarily close Quince for a major renovation that's expected to last about six months, Eater SF reports. During the closure, the fine dining restaurant, which turned 20 years old this year, will get an updated dining room and bar, among other upgrades. Upon opening later this summer, Quince is expected to add a new a la carte menu and lunch service, Eater SF reports.
The Tusks also own bistro and wine bar Verjus, which has been temporarily closed since the pandemic but is available for private events.
