    Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.67%

    The Nifty Bank index closed 0.67 per cent down at 41282.2.

    NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a negative note on Monday.

    Shares of Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 0.1 per cent) and HDFC Bank(up 0.08 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

    On the other hand, Bandhan Bank(down 2.97 per cent), State Bank of India(down 2.81 per cent), Bank of Baroda(down 2.42 per cent), AU Small Finance Bank(down 2.35 per cent) and Punjab National Bank(down 2.05 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

    The Nifty Bank index closed 0.67 per cent down at 41282.2.

    Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 85.6 points at 17770.9, while the BSE Sensex stood down 250.86 points at 60431.84.

    Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 18 ended in the green, while 32 closed in the red.

    Shares of YES Bank, Zomato Ltd., , PNB and were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

    Shares of Motor Gen Fin, , , and hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while , , Excel Ind, Elin Electronics Ltd. and hit their fresh 52-week lows.
