MIDDLETOWN — A Wesleyan University student studying abroad died Sunday following a skiing accident, school officials said.

In a Tweet Monday afternoon, officials identified the student as junior Jackson "Jack" Seivwright, a member of the class of 2024. They did not say where the accident occurred.

Seivwright played soccer for Wesleyan during the 2020-21 season as a freshman, according to the university.

“Jack was a ball of energy who loved being active and spending time with his friends,” Geoff Wheeler, head coach of Wesleyan's men’s soccer team, said. “It is so sad to see his life end so early.”

University officials said Seivwright was known to the campus community as a “student-athlete who brought people together.”

“(H)e will be sorely missed by many,” school officials said. “We offer our condolences to Jack’s family, friends and loved ones."

The Wesleyan men's soccer team's roster lists Steivwright's hometown as Elmore, Vt., and states he is a graduate of Stowe High School.
