Security guard held with gun sans licence
Vadodara: A security guard was arrested near Varnama village on Sunday for carrying a gun without having a proper licence. Accused Puransinh Yadav, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, was carrying a double barrel 12 bore shotgun along with nine live cartridges.
Cops had received a tip-off about Yadav carrying the shotgun following which they nabbed him. When questioned, the accused said that he had arms licence only for Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. He brought the gun worth about Rs 25,000 and cartridges without taking any proper permission in Gujarat. Cops are investigating why Yadav brought the gun to Gujarat.
The special operations group (SOG) seized the weapon and filed a complaint against Yadav. The police have been on the vigil after the recent murder of a cook on Savli Road. The deceased was shot at by the accused over a financial dispute worth lakhs of rupees.
