The Milwaukee Recreation Daddy Daughter dance − once billed as the “social event of the year” − will return to North Division High School Saturday after a two year hiatus.

The event features a dance off between the dads and daughters; photo booths; dinner; and gives fathers and daughters a great opportunity to create lasting memories. Music will be provided by Homer Blow.

If you go, here are five things you need to know:

  1. The first Daddy Daughter dance took place 20 years ago, but it was was canceled for two years due to COVID-19, making it the 18th annual.
  2. The dance is one of Milwaukee Rec's longest running and largest events of the year. Any father figure (grandfather, uncle, cousin, family friend, etc.) is welcome and encouraged to accompany a daughter 17-years-old or younger.
  3. The red carpet event will be held at North Division High School, 1011 W. Center St. You can park on the school's parking lot. Doors open at 5 p.m. for pre-registered dinner/dance guests only. Dinner will be served from 5:15-6:15 p.m. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. for dance only guests.
  4. The cost for dinner and dance is $30 per adult, $10 for the first child, and $5 for each additional child. For the dance only, $20 per adult and $5 for each child (limit three children for every one adult for both options). Adult registration includes one complimentary photo at a photo booth. Additional photos at the photo booth are $5.
  5. When registering, please sign up fathers and daughters separately, using the distinct activity codes for each. Participants can also register for the "Dinner & Dance" option, or just the "Dance" option. Click here to register. Registration will be ending soon.
