Motorcyclist, 67, killed in collision with car in San Carlos

The fatal collision was reported around 5:55 a.m. at the intersection of Navajo Road and Bisby Lake Drive in San Carlos
A 67-year-old motorcycle rider died early Monday after colliding with a car that ran a red light in the San Carlos area, San Diego police said.
The rider, who was not identified, was headed west on Navajo Road when he collided with a car at the intersection of Bisby Lake Drive around 5:55 a.m., said police Sgt. Ariel Savage. The rider was rushed to a trauma hospital by paramedics but died, officials said.
The driver of the car, a 2020 Kia Soul, stopped after the crash and cooperated with police.
Police said the 51-year-old driver had run a red light and was subsequently arrested.
Video shot by OnScene TV showed the red 1986 Yamaha SRX-6 motorcycle on its side in a westbound lane of Navajo, near the sidewalk.
Roads in the area were closed for several hours as police investigated the crash. No other details were immediately available.
