Thiruvananthapuram: The city police have arrested a man accused in ganja peddling case, who went into hiding after securing bail and skipped trial, from Bengaluru. The arrested person is Sanjith alias Sanju, a resident of Ramapuram near Balaramapuram.
He is an accused in a case registered by the Vattiyoorkavu police in 2018. He secured bail and skipped the trial. The court then issued a warrant against him. The police were conducting an intensive probe to track him.
He was held from his hideout at Surya Nagar in Bengaluru. In addition to ganja cases, he would dress up as an executive and steal two wheelers from places like Technopark. There are many cases registered against him at various police stations.
Wanted man held : The police have arrested a man who was wanted in an assault and theft case. Vishnu Moorthy alias Appu, 24, of Attukal, was wanted in a case in which he knocked down the owner of a financial institution with his motorcycle and stole 20 sovereigns of gold and Rs 1.75 lakh on July 29, 2022.
