WINSTED — More than 200 people turned out for an evening of wine, spirits and chocolate at the 15th annual Bubbles & Truffles, a much-anticipated wintertime event at Crystal Peak.
The party, held Feb. 10, is hosted annually by the Friends of Main Street, a business promotion and support nonprofit. The pandemic shutdown canceled the event for two years.
Along with the food and drink tastings, the event featured a live and silent auction with gifts and services from local businesses.
Friends of Main Street Winsted is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting the historic preservation, beautification and economic growth of Winsted, according to its website, fomswinsted.org.
Members work to attract new businesses, support existing businesses and encourage traffic to downtown with events that include community members and other organizations.
In addition to Bubbles & Truffles, Friends of Main Street holds an annual Earth Day cleanup, spring flower decorations on Main Street, a summer concert series at East End Park, a fall river cleanup day, a children's Halloween window painting contest and A Winsted Christmas, with events during the holiday season.
