Port Huron wins first boys basketball conference title since 2004

The wait is over. For the first time in 19 years, the Port Huron Big Reds are boys basketball conference champions.
Conner Rosenau finished with a game-high 20 points for Port Huron, which clinched the MAC Silver title with a 70-27 victory over Marine City on Tuesday night.
Garrett James added 16 points while Dwynell Benjamin totaled eight points and 14 rebounds. The Big Reds improved to 10-7 overall and 8-2 in the MAC Silver.
As for the Mariners, they fell to to 0-17 overall and 0-10 in the conference.
Both teams are idle until the first round of the MAC Silver/Bronze tournament begins Feb. 16. Game times and opponents are to be determined.
Port Huron Northern 68, Grosse Pointe North 61
The hottest team in the Blue Water Area remains unbeaten at home.
Alex Jamison scored a team-high 22 points for the Huskies, who improved to 15-1 overall, 10-0 in the MAC White and 7-0 on their home floor.
Cam Harju contributed 18 points and six rebounds while Amir Morelan added 16 points and eight assists.
Northern will host St. Clair at 7 p.m. on Friday.
Almont 67, North Branch 56
Clay Roszczewski dropped a game-high 32 points for the Raiders, who improved to 6-10 overall and 2-7 in the BWAC. He made three triples and went 7-for-7 from the free-throw line.
Marko Radisavljevic chipped in 15 points and Cam Bourdeau followed with 13.
Almont will travel to Richmond at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
Armada 61, Imlay City 41
Every player scored for the Tigers, who improved to 11-5 overall and 6-3 in the BWAC. Riley Andrews and Andrew Sniesak each led the way with 14 points. Cody Rawlins finished with eight.
As for the Spartans, they fell to 7-8 overall and 5-3 in the BWAC. Greg Pawlaczyk totaled a team-high 12 points and Zander Nash added eight.
Both teams return to the floor at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Armada will travel to North Branch while Imlay City will welcome Croswell-Lexington.
Cardinal Mooney 52, Clarkston Everest Collegiate 44
Brian Everhart led the way with 22 points as the Cardinals snapped a three-game losing streak.
Dominic Cattivera added 10 points, nine rebounds and five blocks for Cardinal Mooney, which improved to 8-8 overall. Quentin Hillaker contributed 10 points.
The Cardinals will head to Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Kingswood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
St. Clair 50, Marysville 41
The Saints narrowly avoided an upset thanks to Cooper Pennewell's 15 points. Braylon Frantz followed with 10 points for St. Clair, which improved to 8-8 overall and 7-3 in the MAC Silver.
As for the Vikings, they dropped to 2-15 overall and 2-8 in the MAC Silver. Cole Horan led the way with 11 points and Mekhi Radford-Donawa added seven for Marysville.
Up next for the Saints is a road game against Port Huron Northern at 7 p.m. on Friday.
The Vikings are off until the MAC Silver/Bronze tournament begins Feb. 16. Game times and opponents are to be determined.
