Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.14% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded negative around 10:51AM(IST)on Thursday in a weak market.

Ashok Leyland(up 4.33 per cent), Maruti Suzuki(up 1.18 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 0.78 per cent), MRF(up 0.53 per cent) and Bharat Forge(up 0.5 per cent) were among the top gainers.

TIINDIA(down 2.36 per cent), Eicher Motors(down 2.33 per cent), Hero MotoCorp(down 1.88 per cent), TVS Motor Company(down 1.46 per cent) and Bajaj Auto(down 1.43 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was down 0.14 per cent at 13188.05 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 46.15 points at 17570.15, while the BSE Sensex was down 20.07 points at 59688.01.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 16 were trading in the green, while 34 were in the red.

Shares of , , , PNB and were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of , Mold-Tek Pack, , ITC and Upsurge Seeds of Agriculture Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while , , Moxsh Overseas Educon Ltd., Vikas Proppant & Gr and hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
