Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.13% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 10:19AM(IST)on Friday in a weak market.

Coforge(up 1.58 per cent), Persistent Systems(up 0.95 per cent), HCL Technologies(up 0.65 per cent), MPhasis(up 0.48 per cent) and L&T Technology(up 0.33 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Tech Mahindra(down 0.89 per cent), Wipro(down 0.71 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd(down 0.39 per cent), Infosys(down 0.28 per cent) and Tata Consultancy(down 0.14 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was down 0.13 per cent at 30005.6 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 206.95 points at 17685.0, while the BSE Sensex was down 751.09 points at 59453.97.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 were trading in the green, while 35 were in the red.

Shares of Zomato Ltd., YES Bank, , PNB and were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of , , , and hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while GTL Ltd, , , and hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
