Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading lower on Friday at 10:40AM

Transmission(up 1.36%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 0.80%), DPSC(up 0.80%), Orient Green Power Company(up 0.47%), NTPC(up 0.39%), Tata Power Company(up 0.22%) and KEC International(up 0.14%) were among the top gainers.

Adani Transmissions(down 12.77%), ADANIGREEN(down 12.16%), Adani Power(down 5.00%), PTC India(down 4.98%), Jyoti Structures(down 4.93%), Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(down 4.25%), Inox wind(down 3.51%), KPI Green Energy(down 3.41%), Torrent Power(down 2.91%) and Alstom T&D India(down 2.59%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 118.65 points down at 17773.3, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 480.35 points at 59724.71 at around 10:40AM.

Tata Motors(up 7.35%), Bajaj Auto(up 6.85%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 3.54%), Cipla(up 3.16%), UPL Ltd(up 1.94%), Divis Laboratories(up 1.9%), ITC(up 1.68%), Bajaj Finserv(up 1.49%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 1.35%) and UltraTech Cement(up 1.33%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 4.34%), Adani Enterprises(down 3.21%), ICICI Bank(down 2.67%), HDFC(down 2.42%), HDFC Bank(down 2.07%), Axis Bank(down 1.78%), Reliance Industries(down 1.6%), Asian Paints(down 1.59%), State Bank of India(down 1.57%) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 1.5%) were trading in the red.
