PRAYAGRAJ: Good news awaits the female fraternity of the Sangam city. After providing a number of women centric facilities, like pink (exclusively for women) toilet, pink bus, pink auto, etc., the city is all set to provide exclusive parks to the women fraternity.
As per the plan, the Prayagraj Municipal Corporation would convert 16 parks of the city into pink parks. To start with, eight of such parks will be established in eight large and prominent parks of the respective zone. Facilities like open gym, walking track, CCTV, toilets, etc., would be provided in these parks wherein only female and young kids would be allowed to enter the parks.
For introducing the facility in the city, a blueprint has been prepared by the PMC authority and would be implemented in the coming months. Tenders for the same would be floated by the next financial year. The facility would be provided in the city with an expected cost of around Rs 1 crore.
In the first phase, eight such parks, in the equal number of zones of the city, would be identified by the PMC authority. The zones include Khuldabad, Transport Nagar, Muttiganj, Katra, Allahapur, Naini, Phaphamau and Jhunsi. The existing largest parks of these eight zones would be converted as pink parks. These parks will also have a 'pink selfie point' along with a pin toilet, proper arrangement of lights wherein the poles too would be painted in pink. The benches, entrance gate and the four-walls will also be dominated with pink colour. The highlight of the proposed park is the fact that only women, girls and kids would be allowed to enter the park and there would be a close watch of the authorities through the CCTV, installed in and around the park.
"The city would be provided with this special facility, exclusively meant for the female fraternity of the Sangam city, and all the facilities would be introduced keeping in mind their needs," said chief engineer, PMC,
Satish Kumar. These parks would be developed in eight zones of the city, he added.
Besides, under the Smart City Project, Sangam City is all set to get three more unique theme-based parks at different parts of the city. The uniqueness of these proposed dedicated parks lies regarding who would be using these parks.
These three dedicated parks, which have been envisaged as a 'pilot project' include an 'elderly park', 'dog park' and 'differently-abled park'. Tenders for these parks have been floated by the Smart City Authority. These parks would have facilities for the specified users, as the name suggests.
