Ludhiana: Almost 500 students appeared for the JEE Mains at two venues in the district — Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Management Technology in Dakha and Guru Nanak Computer Centre in Janta Nagar. The exam was held in two shifts, the morning shift started at 9 am while the evening shift was from 3pm to 6 pm.
The 300 marks exam consisted of as many as 90 multiple choice questions based on Physics, Chemistry and Maths, and the students are required to attempt a total of 75 questions, 25 from each subject carrying four marks each.
One student, Deepinder Singh, a resident of Civil Lines, said that he is aiming for the Indian Institute of Information Technology to pursue a Bachelor’s in Computer Science. On being questioned about the paper, Deepinder claimed that the Physics portion was a bit tough. He added, "Physics was tough but Chemistry and Maths portion were overall moderate, and I was able to attempt the whole paper on time.” Sheetal, another candidate, said, “I have been preparing for the exam for the last two years through offline coaching. Since this is my first attempt, it was challenging for me to attempt the whole paper.”
