WhatsApp’s new MacOS beta app is available for download now

Pakyong, 25 Jan: According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp’s new native app for macOS, which was created using Mac Catalyst, is apparently ready for download on the company’s website. The beta version of the software was previously restricted to TestFlight’s private beta participants.

The public beta now seems to be accessible for more people to download. The official file has also been shared by WABetainfo via a link. However, we were still unable to find the updated beta versions of the software for download on the official WhatsApp website.

The interface of the new WhatsApp macOS app has also been completely updated. There is a sidebar for the specific program, and you can drag and drop files into the conversation as well. This is comparable to other Mac programs. Given that this is still a beta release and not all of the features may function as intended, WABetainfo does caution that the app is likely to gain a number of new features. If the user so chooses, the sidebar can also be eliminated. Given that this is currently in beta testing, users have the option of reporting crashes or any other difficulties to WhatsApp.

WhatsApp for Mac now runs on Macs powered by Apple M1 silicon and some Intel Macs that can run apps created with Mac Catalyst on macOS 11 Big Sur and later. The ability to share high-quality photographs, ban unidentified users from notifications, forward media with captions, and other capabilities were recently added by WhatsApp’s engineers.
