Stock market update: Sugar stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading lower on Wednesday at 10:35AM

& Chemicals(up 0.47%) and Ugar Sugar Works(up 0.45%) were among the top gainers.

Simbhaoli Sugars(down 2.99%), & Chemicals(down 2.89%), Sakthi Sugars(down 2.46%), Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries(down 2.08%), MAGADHSUGAR(down 2.03%), Dhampur Sugar Mills(down 1.97%), Uttam Sugar Mills(down 1.95%), BAJAJHIND(down 1.95%), Dwarikesh Sugar Industries(down 1.94%) and KCP Sugar & Industries(down 1.79%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 188.85 points down at 17929.45, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 594.26 points at 60384.49 at around 10:35AM.

Maruti Suzuki(up 0.76%), Hindustan Unilever(up 0.6%), Hindalco Industries(up 0.41%) and Bajaj Auto(up 0.11%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 4.82%), State Bank of India(down 2.86%), Adani Enterprises(down 2.24%), IndusInd Bank(down 1.93%), Larsen & Toubro(down 1.9%), UltraTech Cement(down 1.86%), Axis Bank(down 1.79%), HDFC Bank(down 1.62%), Enterprises(down 1.58%) and Wipro(down 1.46%) were trading in the red.
