Two injured in blast at scrapyard

Margao: A blast that occurred inside a scrapyard at Chandrawado, Fatorda Wednesday evening left two workers injured. Sources said that the blast occurred while the chassis of a vehicle was being cut by a gas cutter.
Residents of the locality have demanded shifting of the scrapyards located in the residential areas to the industrial estate.
“This is the third incident in recent times of a blast in the scrapyards of Chandrawado. The government should take immediate steps for shifting of such hazardous units,” said councillor Camilo Barreto. tnn
